Arne Slot will bring a third employee to Liverpool; he attempted to engage Jack Lusby, the manager of Shakhtar, on April 29, 2024.

Along with bringing three Feyenoord employees to Liverpool, Arne Slot attempted to persuade the Shakhtar Donetsk manager to accompany him.

Following an agreement between Liverpool and Feyenoord on compensation for the 45-year-old, Slot is set to succeed Jurgen Klopp at the end of the current campaign.

It was widely believed that Slot’s backroom team at Anfield will include assistant manager Sipke Hulshoff and head of performance Ruben Peeters.

It has now been disclosed that Etienne Reijnen, a technical advisor and analyst at Feyenoord, was included in the deal that was ultimately agreed upon with the Dutch team.

Reijnen, a 37-year-old former center back, was a player with Slot at PEC Zwolle until he joined his Rotterdam staff in November.

Feyenoord source 1908.nl reported the story, which Jonathan Northcroft of the Times confirmed.

Liverpool has effectively replaced departing coaches Pepijn Lijnders, Peter Krawietz, and Andreas Kornmayer, respectively, with Hulshoff, Reijnen, and Peeters.

Slot reportedly “tried and failed” to persuade former assistant manager Marino Pusic to join his backroom staff, according to Adam Crafton of The Athletic.

Pusic served as Slot’s assistant at Feyenoord and AZ Alkmaar before leaving in October to become manager of Shakhtar Donetsk, where he currently “wishes to remain.”

Although Slot, Hulshoff, Reijnen, and Peeters’ appointments are still pending, Liverpool has made significant progress in addressing the departure of first-team personnel this summer.

With a new organization that includes David Woodfine as deputy sporting director, Richard Hughes has replaced Jorg Schmadtke as sporting director.

In addition to looking for a replacement for elite development coach Vitor Matos, Liverpool may also consider looking for a replacement for departing director of recovery and performance Andreas Schlumberger.

Although there are currently no reported exits, it’s likely that many of the employees Klopp hired are thinking about their futures.

Head of Nutrition Although Mona Nemmer is a very powerful person behind the scenes, she might be considering leaving with Klopp.

Coaches Claudio Taffarel and Jack Robinson, as well as longtime goalkeeping coordinator John Achterberg, don’t seem to want to leave.

The other members of Liverpool’s fitness, analytics, and matchday staff are probably going to stay in Slot’s new backroom.
