signing former first-round selection Justin

Jefferson to a four-year, $184 million deal extension.

It appears to be the perfect agreement that the Dallas Cowboys had been looking for as they continue to negotiate

with the agents of outstanding receiver Lamb. According to NFL insider Josiah’s Anderson, contract negotiations are anticipated to “speed up.”

Earlier this spring, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones stated that the team needed to wait for more “leaves to fall” before making any proposals. Many more leaves have fallen.

Who in the world would believe that we are not working on it? Jones stated. “I work on it at 2 a.m. occasionally. Your

real question is, why don’t you have anything done, negotiated, and stored in the drawer? We would want to see more leaves fall. “We would like to see more action.”

“You may give money to someone you shouldn’t have,” he said. “Saying you’re not working on it or going is not the correct response. The distinction is in the style. It is on your mind. It would be

insane not to recognize that the contracts are coming. …. You had a problem with the timing around here because I’m not ready to depart.”

As it stands, Lamb is preparing to play the 2024 season on his fifth-year extension for $17.9 million. He’s doing that preparation away from the team, however, as he waits on a new deal. The

Cowboys begin mandatory mini amp on Tuesday, and it’s unclear whether the former Sooner plans to participate.

Jefferson acquisition reshapes Lamb’s market Lamb’s is remarkably similar to Jefferson’s after four seasons in the league. The two former first-round picks, taken five

positions apart, have three Pro Bowl nominations each. Lamb has two All-Pro selections, and Jefferson has three (one first team, two second team).
