Penn State University has unveiled a groundbreaking renovation plan for Beaver Stadium, a \$700 million investment aimed at redefining the landscape of college football. This ambitious project is designed to enhance the fan experience, modernize infrastructure, and position the stadium as a premier venue not just for football, but for year-round events.
Slated for completion before the 2027 football season, the renovation focuses heavily on the west side of the stadium. Major structural upgrades include demolishing the existing press box and upper deck to make way for state-of-the-art facilities such as the PAM Health Misitano Family Tower, the Schuyler Family Club, and the Marzano Club. These additions aim to deliver both luxury and accessibility, catering to a broad spectrum of fans.
A key highlight of the renovation is the expansion and improvement of stadium concourses. Three new levels—Field Level, Main, and Upper—will significantly increase fan circulation space, doubling the capacity of previous walkways and enhancing crowd flow. To improve ease of access within the vast stadium, 24 new elevators, 12 escalators, and multiple stair towers will be installed. Enhanced amenities such as upgraded restrooms, expanded concessions, and improved Wi-Fi connectivity further promise a seamless, modern game-day experience.
The seating plan has also been carefully reimagined. Around 75% of the new seating in the updated west stands will be non-premium, maintaining affordability and accessibility for everyday fans.
